This was our first visit to Yorkshire. The hospitality was unbelievable! We were warmly greeted and Philippa was even gracious enough to clean our muddied shoes! Low Penhowe has been the best of all B&B’s we have stayed in throughout Ireland and England. If ever we are back in the area then Low Penhowe is a MUST.

In fact it is extremely difficult to imagine B&B hosts who are as friendly, helpful and nice as you. Our double room has been very lovely and as you know we enjoyed the excellent cooked English breakfasts very much, even or because it has beaten us several mornings. So in a nutshell: this was a great pleasure for us!

Low Penhowe may not always be easy to find – a long search on the internet for the perfect place, then a long journey at the end of a long and windy road…..but sooooo worth the effort! This is the end of our UK holiday as we head back to New York tomorrow to the hustle and bustle. This (despite the weather) was the end to our Yorkshire jaunt. Thank you for providing such a lovely welcoming environment, beautiful rooms and fabulous hospitality. We will definitely recommend you to others who are travelling to these parts. Five Stars? Nah six! Thanks a million

Laura & Chris Goldsmith, Leicester, Leicestershire, July 2004
This has been without doubt, one of the most wonderful travel experiences we have been part of. Without our wonderful hosts and their assistance with our planning and suggestions this could have ended up a much less enjoyable experience. As it was, our love for this part of England has grown day by day as we saw more of your countrymen and women. We have never felt so welcome in all of our travels. The facilities were excellent and the food was indeed ‘brilliant’. The evening social gatherings were very special and made us feel right at home. We also enjoyed the opportunity your two big ‘boys’ and their companions. Our experiences were truly enhanced by meeting and discussing English social life and politics with them. Lastly, we have never before felt ‘close’ to England, even though we are known to a number of your countrymen in the USA. This trip and the hospitality of the English people have made us really feel like we understand our American heritage and its roots in England much, much better. I truly hope we get a chance to return to England for a second visit and hope that you will have the opportunity to visit us in Ohio (or wherever we are) if you come to the States.
Yes - you deserve 5 Stars – or however many puts you at the top of the UK B&B pyramid.
Pete & Anne Tomassini, Sylvania, Ohio, USA, July 2004
