Stately homes and houses such as Castle Howard, Duncombe Park and Sledmere House are close by. Visit the seaside towns of Whitby, Scarborough, Filey and Robins Hood Bay. Stroll round the gardens of Burton Agnes Hall ‘Garden of the Year Award’, RHS Garden Harlow Carr, The Walled Garden at Scampston. The National Railway Museum, Yorkshire Air Museum, Jorvik Centre, Ryedale Folk Museum, York Castle Museum and Captain Cook Memorial Museum are all well worth a visit.
