If it's not home grown, home made, home baked, home cooked then it will be sourced locally and always within Yorkshire! Enjoy a selection of our own free-range eggs, and from our Malton butcher, locally cured bacon, black pudding and sausages.

At Low Penhowe we have been lucky enough to have won a number of awards over the last 6 years. We would like to thank our guests for all their warm comments which have helped to win these awards. It’s always reassuring to stay at Bed and Breakfast that has a good profile and has received 83 fabulous reviews on TripAdvisor. Low Penhowe is also listed with Alastair Sawday’s Special Places to Stay. Our Yorkshire Bed and Breakfast has won many awards for quality and service and is currently finalist for Visit York Guest Accommodation of the Year. Not forgetting the award winning Yorkshire Breakfast which is all Yorkshire sourced, so it has to be good!
We have two bedrooms with an occasional third bedroom. Our south facing bedrooms are located on the first floor with en-suite and private bathrooms overlooking well-kept gardens and paddocks. Each bathroom is fully equipped with bath, shower, hand basin and toilet.
From your bedrooms you will enjoy seeing the Highland cattle, their calves and our free range chickens clucking around the paddock. We are also fortunate enough to have a big wild bird population pecking away at the feeders which may easily seen from the bedroom windows.
You will be served breakfast in a delightful dining room with stunning northerly views stretching across to the Howardian Hills, Castle Howard and the North Yorkshire Moors.
The Drawing Room faces south, overlooks the garden and is for the exclusive use of our guests. Spacious and comfortable, it is the perfect place to unwind on arrival, curl up with a good book, or simply relax in front of the open log fire.
We provide free of charge wireless access to the internet (WiFi). So, if you have a wireless enabled device such as a PC, a laptop or a PDA, please bring them, hook up to the internet, deal with the e-mail and remain in contact!

The market towns of Malton, Pickering, and Helmsley are on the doorstep. Stately homes and houses such as Castle Howard, Duncombe Park and Sledmere House are close by. Visit the seaside towns of Whitby, Scarborough, Filey and Robins Hood Bay. Stroll round the gardens of Burton Agnes Hall ‘Garden of the Year Award’, RHS Garden Harlow Carr, The Walled Garden at Scampston. The National Railway Museum, Yorkshire Air Museum, Jorvik Centre, Ryedale Folk Museum, York Castle Museum and Captain Cook Memorial Museum are all well worth a visit.
